Our commitment to the environment shows again with our 10 Kilowatt array of grid connected solar powered energy. These panels will produce 16,000 Kilowatts of electricity enough power two 2500 sq foot homes in one year. This solar array power assists our automatic dryers, vacuums and lighting. When we aren’t washing cars we will be producing electricity for Xcel Energy to divert to other electricity purchasers and residential homes. We also have installed 10 solar thermal cells that preheat our water to 102 degrees to help our chemicals dissolve properly and deliver a quality car wash to our customers. This gas savings amounts to the gas used by eight mid-sized cars in one year. Just another way that we show we are committed to doing the right thing! All of our waste water is sent directly to the Persigo Waste Treatment Plant. Nothing is washed down storm drains which can pollute our rivers and streams. We support a Modern Charity Car Wash Program that eliminates the common car wash fund raisers that wash pollutants directly into our waterways. The dangerous chemicals that wash off of car engines are dangerous chemicals that kill our fish, flora and healthy bacteria that our streams and rivers need to stay vital and alive. The Sierra Club supports professional car washing endeavors in an attempt to educate car owners about the dangers of driveway washing. Our Charity Car Wash Program offers a more environmentally friendly alternative to common car wash fundraisers and the opportunity to receive more cash for the fund raising program.
